CO-OPERATIVE HOUSING
Cooperative Houses are available for the more independent youth aged 16 to 24. This program provides staged supported housing to a young person until they are prepared for a more independent living environment. In the Cooperative Housing Program a young person shares a home with two or three other residents.
Admission to these homes is through an assessment or follows residency in the Transition Home.
Services Available:
- Subsidized supported housing
- Individual and group counselling and therapy
- Life skill and social skills training
- Preparation to move to a more independent living environment
- Recreational activities and referrals to other community resources as required.
Program Expectations:
- Smoking is permitted outside only
- No drugs or alcohol
- All residents are required to have a day program (school or work)
- No weapons
The Cooperative Housing Program is available in the following communities: Belleville, Trenton, Madoc, Bancroft and Picton.
